According to the U.S. Geoloical Survey a strong 6.5 magnitude earthquake hit Costa Rica on October 24 at 00:45 UTC. 

The epicenter was located 6 miles northeast of Hojancha, 7.5 miles south of Cañas,  38 miles south-southeast of Liberia and 88 miles west of San Jose, Costa Rica at depth of 12.5 miles. 

The quake was followed by magnitude 4.5 tremor about an hour later.

No injuries or damages have been reported.

The earthquake hit in the same area where a magnitude 7.6 quake hit a month ago.
