Tropical Storm Sandy is now a Category One Hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 80 mph.
The center of Hurricane Sandy is located 65 miles South of Kingston, Jamaica and moving NNE at 20 km/h. A slight increase in forward speed is expected later today.
In Kingston, Jamaica, conditions continue to deteriorate as Sandy moves closer to shore. Heavy rains and winds batter the island along with dangerously high waves.
