The National Hurricane Center in Miami, Florida reported that Hurricane Ileana has likely reached its peak intensity.
At 2:00 PM PDT, the center of Ileana was located 315 miles West-Southwest of the southern tip of Baja California. Ileana is moving toward the Northwest near 6 mph and is expected to continue on this path for the next 48 hours.
Ileana's maximum sustained winds have increased to 85 mph with higher gusts. She is currently a Category 1 hurricane and is not expected to strengthen through today. Weakening is expected to begin tonight or Friday.
