The death toll from Tropical Cyclone Igme (Tembin) jumped to eight as of Wednesday, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said.

In its 6 a.m. update, the NDRRMC also said at least three people remain missing, while one was injured and seven were rescued.

After it reentered the Philippine Area of Responsibility earlier this week, Igme left Tuesday night. However, it is still enhancing the southwest monsoon.

The NDRRMC said Igme had affected 383 families or 1,617 people in 15 villages in seven towns of La Union, even as the evacuees had returned to their homes.

As of 5 p.m. Tuesday, it said the Abra-Kalinga Road in Kalinga remained closed to traffic.
