Tropical Storm Ileana Strengthens

A few villages in Jabi, Setiu, were hit by flash floods due to continuous heavy rain from last night which caused Sungai Tok Dor and Sungai Selasih to burst their banks around 5 am today.

Thirty people from Kampung Tok Dor and Kampung Renek were evacuated around 7 am to temporary shelters, including Sekolah Kebangsaan Anak Ikan and the Kampung Renek market, when their homes were flooded by between one and two metres.

7.3 Earthquake Hits Off West Coast of Northern Sumatra

A very strong 7.3 magnitude earthquake hit off the western coast of Northern Sumatra at 18:37 UTC today. No tsunami warning was issued by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center but the local BMKG has called for a Tsunami Alert for parts of the country. There are no islands with hundreds of kilometers of the epicenter.

More than 100 apples fell from the sky just after rush-hour Monday in Conventry, UK. Authorities said possibly a tornado scooped up the apples and rained them down on people and cars causing chaos among commuters.
